Do you accept all breeds?

Accepted Answer

We do accept all breeds into our facility (15lb adult minimum), however we do limit the number of bully breed dogs enrolled at any one time. If you have a bully breed, let us know up front and we'll tell you about availability or add you to our waiting list. Bully breeds go through the same strict interview process as all other dogs. Due to the variety of sizes in our playgroup, we do not allow wolf-dogs.

Question 2

Sometimes I look on the webcam and my dog is just laying down, why don't you make them play?

Accepted Answer

We want dogs appropriately tired, not exhausted. Exhausted dogs are more likely to over-react and behave impulsively. If you see your dog napping, that's actually a good sign they're comfortable enough to self-settle and rest before engaging in healthy play again.

What is your cleaning protocol?

Accepted Answer

We clean messes with a hospital-grade neutral pH disinfectant safe for dogs. We disinfect and sanitize the entire play area daily including equipment and cots. Water bowls are soaked in bleach overnight, boarding dogs get new bowls every other morning, and we deep clean with a pressure washer each weekend. Laundry is washed in hot water with a sanitizer supplement, and we use a bio enzymatic digester in play areas to eliminate odors.

What do I need to do to bring my dog to daycare?

Click the Enrollment tab and complete online registration. You'll need vaccination records showing current Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella (required every 6 months), plus proof of spay/neuter if over 7 months. Then call us to schedule your dog's interview.

My vet says my bordetella vaccination is good for a year, why do you require it every 6 months?

Accepted Answer

Canine cough is airborne, highly contagious, and spreads rapidly among dogs sharing an environment. It mutates easily, so we require the vaccine every 6 months as an extra safety precaution, even though many vets only update it annually.

Question 6

What does the interview entail and how long will it take?

Accepted Answer

We review your dog's application and vet records, then introduce them to our pack and observe for signs of aggression, fear, or anxiety (allow 15-30 minutes for this step). If they pass, we have you leave your dog for 4 hours so they can settle in and experience a full daycare day while we monitor how they're doing.

My dog is very thirsty after daycare, do they have access to water at all times?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we have several water troughs with fresh water in each play area at all times. Dogs are very active at daycare, so rehydration afterward is normal. We monitor water intake during active play since drinking large amounts while playing hard increases bloat risk.

Do you feed my dog during daycare?

Accepted Answer

We have a lunch break, though most adult dogs don't need to eat while at daycare. We recommend puppies up to one year old have a lunchtime meal due to increased activity. Bring a reusable container with their food if you'd like your puppy to eat lunch. Dogs stay in their kennel for 60 minutes after eating to allow digestion.

My dog's paws seem to be sore after daycare, why?

Accepted Answer

Dogs whose pads haven't built up a good callous surface may be a little sensitive after a full day of running and playing. We use pea gravel in our outside yard, which is easier on joints and paws. Once dogs are exposed regularly, their pads harden and are no longer sore.

What do I need to board my dog?

Accepted Answer

Boarding dogs need to be able to spend their days in daycare, so the same requirements apply. Once your dog passes the interview, you can schedule boarding. Check the Sleepover Checklist under Agreements after registering for what to bring. Boarding dogs must be dropped off no later than 3pm.

Can we bring our own dog's food?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we recommend bringing the food your dog is used to eating since rapid diet changes can cause digestive issues. We do have house food available for $2/day if you forget your dog's food.

My dog has medication, will you administer it and is there an extra charge?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we will administer medication at no extra charge. We just ask that you provide written instructions.

My dog is on a special diet, can you accommodate?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can accommodate special diets. Please provide instructions on preparation, storage requirements, and treat restrictions. We have a full kitchen with a fridge and microwave.

Can I bring my dog's bed, toys, or favorite toy?

Accepted Answer

We encourage it, since items from home provide comfort and security in the kennel. These items aren't allowed in the play area but help at bedtime. If your dog tends to be destructive, consider leaving cherished items at home. We also provide bowls, beds, and blankets if needed.

Do you have specific drop off and pick up hours for daycare or boarding?

Accepted Answer

Daycare dogs must arrive no later than 1pm; boarding dogs no later than 3pm. We don't charge by time increments, so pick-up is flexible, but dogs must be picked up by 7pm Monday-Friday and by 5:30pm on weekends and most holidays.

Question 17

Can my dogs stay in the same kennel?

Accepted Answer

Yes, most family dogs feel most comfortable snuggled next to their siblings. We also have oversized kennels for large breed families or extra room.

Do you take large and small dogs?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we take dogs of all sizes, though we're not set up to accommodate teacup or micro-sized dogs.

Yes, we have multiple play areas. All dogs are exposed to dogs of all sizes during the interview process so they don't develop phobias, though we may separate dogs by size during inclement weather or drop-off/pick-up times for safety and comfort.

Question 20

Can I drop off and pick up my dog on Saturday and Sunday? What about holidays?

Accepted Answer

Yes, boarding reservations allow weekend and most holiday drop-off and pick-up. Our lobby is open 10:30am-5:30pm on weekends. Weekend daycare requires a reservation as spots are limited; we don't offer daycare on major holidays.

Why do you require that dogs over 7 months be spayed or neutered?

Accepted Answer

This protects the safety of intact dogs and the group overall. Intact males are often viewed as threats by dominant dogs, and non-intact females may target intact females. Requiring spay/neuter creates a level playing field so dogs find their natural place in the pack safely.

Why is your boarding more expensive than at my vet?

Accepted Answer

Traditional boarding typically means being kenneled most of the day with a few potty walks and little social interaction. Our daycare boarding allows dogs to socialize freely indoors and out with playmates, staff interaction, and enrichment activities all day, which makes for a calmer, happier dog.
